Three district titles for RE golf

RE's boys' golf team celebrated its third straight district title and Jake Beber-Frankel '20 and Rachel DeAngulo '20 each won individual championships at the Class 1A-District 16 finals at the Biltmore Golf Club Oct. 14. Phoebe Beber-Frankel '20 finished second behind DeAngulo in the girls' competition, and Zach Buttrick '20 tied for third in the boys' event.
Beber-Frankel, the district runner-up in 2018, shot a 71 and Buttrick a 75 to lead RE's boys. Marc Chaneles '20 (80), Jonathan Pollak '23 (81) and Jackson Langer '24 (85) also contributed.

The Raiders, who train under coach Dave Ragan, finished with a team score of 307 (best four scores), topping second-place Gulliver Prep by nine strokes and advancing to the regional championships Oct. 21.

In the girls' competition, DeAngulo finished with a 72 and Beber-Frankel a 73, each advancing to regionals. The girls, part of RE's 2018 district champion team, competed under coach Eric Salomatoff.
