Raiders knock off #2 seed Westminster Christian to advance to district final
Junior Alexis Tie-Shue '23 and senior Mather Davidson '22 converted on early opportunities to give the Raiders a 2-0 lead that they would not relinquish. Westminster Christian would answer back with a goal of their own at the 12:00 minute mark, but it was the defense of the Raiders that held steady in a 2-1 victory. Seniors Lua Balestra '22 and Sophia Salguiero '22 anchored the back line with the help of both Carolina Font '24 and Lucia Font '22 who were outstanding. Sophomore goalkeeper Juliana Perez Rivera '24 came up clutch in goal with a pair of crucial saves to allow the Raiders to hold on and advance to Wednesday afternoon's 3:30 p.m. district final at Palmer Trinity.
