Girls' basketball falls short of a district title

The girls' basketball team advanced to the district semifinals with a dominant victory over Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart, but the team fell just short of its goal of winning the first district title since 2013. A day after avenging an earlier loss to Carrollton with a 42-24 victory on Jan. 31, the Raiders fell out of the playoffs with a loss to Gulliver.
Casey Quanstrom '18 led the team in scoring with 18 points per game. Quanstrom and Aryanah Diaz '19 averaged a team-high five rebounds per game — Diaz had 12 rebounds in the Carrollton victory — and point guard Mia Schatz ran the offense, averaging three assists per game. Christine Peluso coached the young team, which included just two seniors (Lala Cohen '17 and Chloe Namias '17).
