Coronell '18 gets Silver Knight honorable mention

Raquel Coronell '18 won an honorable mention in the social science category at the 60th annual Silver Knight Awards Ceremony at the James L. Knight Center on May 17. Coronell was recognized for her Bald is Beautiful project, which raises money to supply American Girl dolls to cancer patients across South Florida and Colombia.
The Silver Knight Awards are given annually by the Miami Herald and El Nuevo Herald to high school seniors who exemplify excellence in grades, service and talent.

Ransom Everglades nominated Coronell, Stephen Kaiser '18, Dylan Roston '18, Andrew Lorenzen '18, Libby Meland '18, Jacob Tie-Shue '18 and Megan Zou '18 for the competition. The nominees were selected by the school's college counseling office with input from RE faculty and administrators. Schools throughout Miami-Dade and Broward counties may nominate one student per category. The students attended the event with college counselor William Tran.
