Girls JV Wins Again

The team won their second game of the season, 3-2 over Gulliver.  The girls got off to another strong start with a goal by Madison Munroe on our first trip down the field in the second minute.  Then Bri Suarez scored in the seventh minute after Julia Paula stole the ball near midfield and dribbled past three defenders.  The team kept up the pressure by working the wings again and playing mostly in Gulliver's half of the field. The third goal came after the water break when Ellie Dyke scored her second of the season.  The team went into half-time with a 3-0 lead.

The second half started much differently than the first when we gave up a penalty kick goal within the first five minutes.  The girls settled in and started putting pressure on their defense and forcing saves from the Gulliver goalkeeper. Unfortunately, it was Gulliver who got the next goal and a 3-2 scoreline setting up a very lively final 8 minutes. The RE Raiders held strong and did not allow another scoring chance securing our first JV win against Gulliver in 8 years! Congratulations to all the girls who worked really hard on a humid south Florida night. Special congratulations goes to game MVP Maya Sanchez.

Thanks again to the fans for coming out and supporting the team, especially since kickoff was delayed 35 minutes. Our next game is Saturday the 17th on our home field. Kickoff is 1pm.
