Raiders sweep SLAM Academy for second straight win
Read MoreThe Raiders continued their strong play with a convincing straight-sets victory over SLAM Academy, earning their second consecutive win. Senior Tariq Maduro '26 led the offense with 15 kills, while junior Shai Waizbrot '27 delivered an all-around performance with 11 kills, 3 aces, and 10 digs. Freshman setter Jahan Jayanetti '29 guided the attack with 31 assists, adding 9 digs and a kill. Senior Edwin Carr '26 contributed 5 digs along with an ace and a kill, and senior Indigo Smith added 4 kills and a block at the net. With a balanced effort across the lineup, the Raiders controlled the match from start to finish and will look to carry their momentum into the next contest. -
Raiders pick up first win of season in five set thriller
Read MoreThe Raider boys volleyball team picked up its first win of the season in a thrilling five-set match over Homestead High School. Junior Shai Waizbrot (‘27) led the way with a dominant all-around performance, recording 15 kills, 4 aces, and 20 digs. Senior Tariq Maduro (‘26) continued his strong final season with 20 kills, 3 blocks, and 26 digs, helping anchor the Raiders on both sides of the net. Freshman setter Jahan Jayanetti (‘29) orchestrated the offense with 33 assists while also contributing 17 digs. The Raiders came out firing, taking the first two sets 25–23 and 25–22. Homestead battled back to claim sets three and four, forcing a decisive fifth set. Showing grit and composure, the Raiders closed out the match with a 15–13 victory in the final set. The Raiders will return to the practice court today as they prepare for a road matchup against SLAM Academy (Sports Leadership and Management) on Wednesday afternoon, with first serve scheduled for 4:00 PM.
