Girls' Varsity Water Polo Knocks Off Hialeah, Advances to States
Read MoreThe Girls' Varsity Water Polo Team welcomed the previously unbeaten and defending state champions, Hialeah High School to the Ansin Aquatic Center for the Regional Final on Friday evening. In front of a packed house the Raiders edged the Thoroughbreds, 9-8 in a thrilling, down-to-the-wire affair. Goaltender Claudia Pinilla was a force between the pipes. Pinilla had a game-high 16 saves including two key blocks at point blank range with less than a minute to go to keep the T-Breds from tying the game. Senior Grace Waibel had the game-winner with 3:04 left in the game. With the win the team advances to the State Tournament which will be held at Boca Raton High School on May 10-11. -
Girls' Varsity Water Polo Beats Rival Gulliver, Advances to Regional Final
The Girls' Varsity Water Polo Team beat rival Gulliver Prep on the road, 6-3 in the Regional Semifinal. Emanuelle Dooreck-Aloni led the Raiders with 3 goals and Sarah Mesa contributed 2 goals. Karin Belausteguigoitia and Meredith Hutchinson stuffed the stat sheet with 5 steals and 2 assists apiece. Grace Waibel had 5 steals of her own while Hutchinson also added a goal. With the win the team advances to the Regional Final which will be played on Friday, April 26.Read More -

The team got off to a fast start by defeating Miami Beach, 14-2 and Gulliver Prep, 12-7. Sarah Mesa led the Raiders with 4 goals in a win over Dr. Phillips High School, 12-2. In the last game of the weekend Meredith Hutchinson stuffed the stat sheet with 4 goals and 4 assists as the team defeated Suncoast Community High School by a score of 18-8. -
Girls' Varsity Water Polo Has Perfect Weekend at Gulliver Invitational
The Girls' Varsity Water Polo Team went a perfect 5-0 at the Gulliver Invitational. In the first game the Raiders defeated Cypress Bay, 22-1. Anna Sannia led all-scorers with 5 goals and 4 assists. Sara Mesa notched 3 goals and 4 steals as the team doubled up on Gulliver Prep, 12-6 in the second game. In the third game Grace Waibel recorded 4 goals and 5 thefts as the team shut out St. Thomas Aquinas, 15-0. Sabrina Shipley stuffed the stat sheet with 8 goals and 4 assists as the team defeated Alonzo and Tracy Mourning Senior High, 21-1 in the fourth game. In the final game of the tourament the team defeated Dr. Michael M. Krop Senior High School by a score of 16-3. Aliyah Cohen led the Raiders with 3 goals and 6 steals.Read More -

Girls' Varsity Water Polo Captures Palm Beach Invitational
The Girls' Varsity Water Polo Team traveled to St. Andrew's School for the Palm Beach Invitational this past weekend and finished the weekend 4-0 with a 1st place finish. In the first game on Friday the team defeated Boone High School, 9-3. Emanuelle Dooreck-Aloni led the team with 4 goals. Anna Sannia and Grace Waibel both contributed 3 steals. In the second game on Friday, the Raiders defeated Boca Raton High School, 14-6. Emanuelle Dooreck-Aloni found the back of the net on 3 occasions. Karin Belausteguigoitia (4) and Sarah Mesa (3) led the team in steals. On Saturday the team was paired against district-rival Gulliver Prep. The team rose to the occasion by defeating Gulliver by a score of 17-6. Emanuelle Dooreck-Aloni and Grace Waibel recorded 4 goals apiece. Karin Belausteguigoitia led the team in assists with 3. In the final game of the Palm Beach Invitational the Raiders defeated Winter Park, 11-5 to stay perfect on the weekend. Sarah Mesa led the team in goals with 4.
