Raiders roll past Miami Country Day 15-0
Read MoreJunior Tyler Grossfeld '27 led the way with three hits and four RBIs, highlighted by a third-inning grand slam, as the Raiders cruised to a 15-0 win on Monday. The Raiders exploded for seven runs in the first inning and added seven more in the third to put the game out of reach early. Juan Velazco '26 also had three hits and stole three bases. Sophomore Jorge Gross '28 earned the win on the mound, tossing four shutout innings while striking out four. The Raiders will get back on the diamond this afternoon as they begin preparations for a conference game on Wednesday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. -
Raiders rally to defeat Downtown Doral
Read MoreThe Ransom Everglades Varsity Raiders continued their strong start to the season on Thursday, improving to 7–2 with a 9–4 comeback victory over Downtown Doral at Doral Meadow Park. After falling behind early, the Raiders responded with timely power hitting and a strong pitching effort, led by senior Juan Velazco ’26, who delivered a standout performance at the plate and on the mound. Downtown Doral struck first in the bottom of the first inning with a 4 run frame. The Raiders answered immediately in the top of the second. With the bases loaded, Velazco crushed a grand slam of his own, tying the game at 4–4 and shifting the momentum back to the Raiders. The Raiders took control in the following inning. Junior Tyler Grossfeld ’27 connected on a two-run home run to left field in the third, giving Ransom Everglades its first lead of the game at 6–4. Velazco added more insurance in the sixth inning when he launched his second home run of the day to center field on a 3–0 count, helping extend the Raiders’ lead as they pulled away for the win. Velazco finished the game with two home runs and six RBIs, powering the Raiders’ offense while also contributing on the mound. Entering in relief, he threw three scoreless innings, allowing no hits while striking out six. Sophomore Jorge Gross ’28 earned the win for the Raiders, pitching four innings while allowing two hits and four runs (three earned) and striking out five. With the win, the Raiders move to 7–2 on the season and will look to carry the momentum into their next matchup on Monday against Palmer Trinity School. -
Raider baseball stays undefeated with comeback win
Read MoreThe Raiders continued there hot start to the season defeating Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) 7–5 on Friday in a back-and-forth matchup at Somerset Academy Silver Palms. The Raiders struck first in the opening inning when sophomore Jorge Gross '28 tripled to drive in a run, and they added another in the third on a Tyler Grossfeld '27 RBI double. Somerset responded in the bottom of the third, tying the game 2–2 after a home run to left field. The Raiders regained a 3–2 lead in the fifth on a Grossfeld RBI groundout, but Somerset answered with a two-run homer to move ahead 4–3. Ransom tied it again in the sixth on an RBI single by junior Nicolas Motoki '27, though Somerset reclaimed a 5–4 edge later that inning on a wild pitch. Ransom sealed the victory with a three-run seventh inning. Grossfeld delivered a two-run triple, and Teddy Wagner added a sacrifice fly to give the Raiders a 7–5 lead they would not relinquish. The Raiders will get back to the practice field today as they prepare to host Marathon tomorrow in search of win number eight. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. -
Raider baseball moves to 4-0 with victory over Mater Bay
Read MoreSophomore Roan Hurwitz ’28 went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate to power the Raiders to a 13-3 victory over Mater Bay Academy on Monday at Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami. Hurwitz singled in the third, fourth, and fifth innings, finishing the day with two RBIs. The Raiders broke the game open with a seven-run fourth inning. Senior Ryan Alesandro ’26 drove in a run with a single, Hurwitz followed with a two-run single, senior Enrique Macias '26 doubled home a run, sophomore Jorge Gross ’27 added a two-run double, and junior Tyler Grossfeld ’27 drew a bases-loaded walk to cap the rally. Senior Jacob Rubinstein ’26 earned the win on the mound, allowing three hits and three runs (one earned) over 4⅓ innings while striking out seven and walking one. Macias came on in relief to close out the game. The Raiders finished with 11 hits. Macias, Hurwitz, Gross, and Grossfeld each recorded two RBIs, while Rubinstein added two hits in three at-bats. With the win, the Raiders improve to 4-0 on the season and will travel to Miami Country Day School on Wednesday for its next matchup. -
Raider baseball dominates on opening day

The Raiders jumped out early, scoring seven runs in the second inning and extending the lead to 8–0 in the third. They added two runs in the fourth and five more in the sixth to put the game away. Gross earned the win, allowing two runs while striking out six over three innings. Ransom Everglades totaled 15 hits and eight walks, with senior Enrique Macias '26, Jorge Gross '28, and Ryan Alesandro '26 each collecting three hits. The Raiders also stole nine bases in a strong all-around season-opening performance. The Raiders will look to move to 2-0 as they host Mater Bay Academy on Wednesday. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
