Strong pitching helps Raiders win season opener

Senior Jake Martin '21 struck out ten, and allowed one hit as the Raiders defeated Alonzo Mourning High School 2-0 in their home opener.  Junior Nick Rubino '22 provided the scoring for the Raiders going 2-3 from the plate with both RBI's including a solo homerun on his first swing of the season. Senior Chris Basile '21 earned his first save of the season pitching a perfect final inning to secure the victory. The Raider defense shined on opening night making plays all over the field. The Raiders will get back to practice today as they look to build on a strong opening night performance.
