MS 'Toy Store' provides holiday cheer

For the 22nd year, Ransom Everglades Middle School students donated new and gently used toys to a special "toy store" operated during the holiday season by Christ Episcopal Church in Coconut Grove. Coconut Grove families were invited to visit the store on Dec. 8 to choose toys for holiday gifts. More than 100 local children attended, selecting from games, stuffed animals and a variety of toys. Nineteen bicycles and three scooters were raffled off. Many RE students, faculty and parents volunteered.
RE students donated so many toys a truck was needed to transport them to the church. Faculty members Maria Eugenia Abrante, Frances Alexander and Ramona Miller coordinated this year's effort.
