RE dancers tell the story of REsilience

The Ransom Everglades dance program offered an evening of inspiring, thought-provoking dances – some to music, some to poetic reflections – in the opening performance under new dance teacher Desiree Masucci, who chose REsilience as the night's theme. The Middle School showcased its beginning and advanced dance classes, and the Upper School dance team also performed in the All School Dance Showcase at Swenson Hall Dec. 6. Photo Gallery
The evening began with video reflections on resilience from student performers; it ended with the entire troupe on stage with Masucci, who offered her thanks to the dancers and received a swarming embrace in return. The Middle School's beginning dancers rocked to "Believer" and the advanced students to "Whatever It Takes," both by Imagine Dragons. The members of the Upper School dance club, who train under advisor Bailey Farrell, danced to "Legend" by The Score. Kira Oglesby '22 demonstrated her breathtaking extension and fouetté turns in the night's only solo.

Before an exciting finale to "Hold On" by Extreme Music, the Middle School dancers performed dramatic pieces to "Reflections on Resilience" by Katya Sucher '22 and "After the Storm" by Masucci. Quincy Knowles and Florencia Ancewicz served as technical directors and many others contributed to Masucci's debut.
