Three MS robotics teams earn spots at worlds

The Middle School robotics team of Sofia Paraoulaki de Miranda '23, Victoria Paraoulaki de Miranda '24, Charlotte Kennedy '24, Gracie Hucks '24, Catherine Buckner '24, Fiona Oberg '24 and Chloe Alfonso '24 will lead a record three robotics teams from the Middle School to the VEX IQ World Championships in Louisville, Ken., in April.
The all-girls squad topped 60 other teams to claim the prestigious design award at the recent VEX IQ Florida State Championship in Tampa, after capturing two awards – for design and skills – at the RoboSLAM event in Miami-Dade County. Two other teams from RE also qualified for worlds: Pablo Rodriguez-Russowsky '23, Luca Trebotich '23, Diego de Lope '23 and Victor Perez '23; and Andre Joseph '22, Max Vallone '22, Dashiell DeStefano '22, Gideon Shaked '22 and Erick Gross '24 and recent addition Isabela Camacho '22. Those teams advanced based on their performance in the robot skills category.

All three teams have been led by MS robotics coach Gustavo Palacios.
