MS students fill Thanksgiving baskets

The Middle School student body filled 45 Thanksgiving baskets with food and Publix gift cards, and nearly 30 students helped deliver them to families at the Frankie Shannon Rolle Neighborhood Center in Coconut Grove on Nov. 19. Faculty members Ginny Onorati and Josh D'Alemberte organized the drive, an annual tradition at the RE Middle School.
Students donated dozens of items for Thanksgiving dinners and $20 gift cards through their advisories, with each advisory filling a basket – actually a large plastic bin. Student volunteers assembled during fifth period on Nov. 19 and traveled to the neighborhood center together. Each peronally met with one or more families receiving baskets.
