In this introductory Creative Writing class, students will learn about the elements of fiction, including character, voice, dialogue, description, and setting. They will be able to share their work and practice revision strategies based on classmates’ feedback. In a fun and supportive environment, students will refine their reading skills by examining short narratives, while their writing abilities are further developed by creating their original fiction. Technical skills to be emphasized are sentence structure, paragraph cohesion, clarity of phrasing, and fundamentals of grammar. In terms of fiction writing, students will be guided to discover their distinct voices.
