    Ransom Everglades upper school student-writers excelled in the 2026 Regional Scholastic Writing Awards, collecting four Gold Keys, 12 Silver Keys, and 14 Honorable Mentions, highlighting RE's literary talent in categories including poetry, fiction-writing and screenplays. Isla Dua '27, Victoria De Vera ’27, Patrick Keedy Brown ’26, and Michael Kong ’28 each earned multiple awards including prestigious Gold Key recognitions, putting them in the top seven percent of all regional entries and advancing in the national competition.

    Math team members advance in national competition

    Seven students on Ransom Everglades' upper school math team earned top scores on a major national math exam as the calculus team excelled at a regional competition, a testament to the team's preparation and commitment under coaches Sebastian Revollo and Thor Andreassen '17.

    Joshie Khohayting '28, Daniel Li '28, Kai Duwin '26 and Gabriel Karsenti '26 (top 10 percent) and Robert Li '26, Armin Stamate '26 and Minnie Zhou '26 (top 25 percent), each qualified for the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME) with their performances on the American Mathematics Competitions 10 and 12 – an impressive distinction reserved for the top tier of math students in the United States.

  • RE's middle school math team

    Middle school math team wins fourth Mathcounts title in a row

    For the fourth straight year, RE's middle school math team won the Miami Mathcounts competition. Four students placed in the top 15 – Ivy Chen '30 (third place), Maya Lee-Schonfeld '30 (seventh), Yifan Shen '30 (eighth) and Ivar Kostowicz '31 (15th) – one of RE's best performances ever in the local championship. Math team members displayed teamwork and problem-solving skills under coach Ashley Ernst and also won the ciphering round, which showcases speed and accuracy under pressure.

  • Middle school robotics students at VEX IQ Robotics Competition Mix & Match Qualifier

    Middle school robotics team scores two major awards

    Ransom Everglades robotics students excelled at the VEX IQ Robotics Competition Mix & Match Qualifier held recently at Rockway Middle School in Miami on January 24. In a field of 35 teams, Jack Milota '30, Ryan Kantesaria '30, Jayden Goodman '30 and Alex Lord Borja '30 secured two of the tournament's top honors: the Amaze Award, recognizing excellence in robot design and programming, and Robot Skills Champion.

    RE Business Challenge Semi-Finals

    This event is the second-to-final stage of Ransom Everglades' High School Business Challenge.

    All teams that make it to the semi-finals will present their business ideas to a panel of judges (three to four RE teachers), and the judges will decide the five finalists. The audience will be students and parents, and the event will take place in Posner Lecture Hall.

Founded in 1903, Ransom Everglades School is a coeducational, college preparatory day school for grades 6 - 12 located on two campuses in Coconut Grove, Florida.
