    Coach Joe Mauro inducted into hall of fame as Raiders score at national event

    Veteran Ransom Everglades history and geography coach Joseph Mauro was named to the inaugural International Academic Competitions Coaches Hall of Fame on May 21, headlining a successful trip to the 2026 Middle and Elementary School National Championships in Orlando. Ransom Everglades sent 29 students – the largest contingent of any school in the country – to compete in the National History and Geography Bees and Bowls and the inaugural Model UN Championship.

    A celebration and a farewell at the Middle School Band and Strings Concert

    The end-of-year middle school bands and strings concert served as a celebration of students’ progress throughout the year and emotional farewell to longtime middle school band director Cathi Leibinger, who is retiring – or, as she calls it, “refiring” – at the end of this school year. RE’s legendary leader of middle school music, who will be moving to the public school realm to work with young teachers, was met with flowers, tributes and hugs, including from several upper school students who credited her with developing their talents and passion for music.

    RE announces first class of AI Innovation Fellows

    Ransom Everglades announced its inaugural class of AI Innovation Fellows, a cohort of nine juniors that will spend the summer investigating how artificial intelligence can be harnessed to solve real-world challenges in the RE community and beyond. Sienna Bautista '27, Owen Brue '27, Olivia Gomez '27, Brandon Heller '27, Girish Raju '27, Elliot Slusky '27, Dhilan Tak '27, Zoe Weber '27 and Henry Whited '27 will conduct original AI-related research or development to address a range of issues related to RE athletics, academics, administration and even allergy patterns in the classroom.
