    Colina wins national championship in speech and debate

    Claudia Colina '25 concluded an extraordinary season in speech and debate with a national championship in Dramatic Interpretation at the 100th anniversary of the National Speech and Debate Tournament in Des Moines, Iowa. A year after finishing fifth in the nation, Colina captured the U.S. title on June 21 with her moving, impassioned interpretation of Legitimate Kid: A Memoir by Aida Rodriguez. Surrounded by teammates and supported by coaches Kate Hamm and Justinmar Perez, she flourished during numerous competitive rounds and endured a tournament delay caused by an intruder who was apprehended.

  • Children from Breakthrough Miami

    RE opens aquatic center to community groups

    For the past three summers, Ransom Everglades has welcomed multiple community groups for swim lessons and recreation at the Broad REACH and Ansin pools. In summer 2025, more than 120 children from The Barnyard, Breakthrough Miami, the Coconut Grove Optimist Club and the free summer reading program at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church enjoyed at least weekly or twice weekly swim sessions at the Ansin Aquatic Center in June and July.

    Professional community members recognized for awards, years of service

    Ransom Everglades honored members of its professional community with awards for excellence and recognition for years of service during a ceremony filled with gratitude and graciousness. Faculty members Cathi Leibinger (middle school) and Karen Key (upper school) each received the Arthur Moses Faculty Award by a vote of their peers, and Evelyng Dulanto, Director of Facilities and Project Operations Manager, received the award for staff.

  • RE academic team

    RE middle schoolers score top finishes at National History Bee and Bowl

    Ransom Everglades sent 30 students and five history bowl teams – the most of any school – to the National History and Geography Middle School Bee and Bowl in Orlando over Memorial Day weekend. RE’s history and geography teams earned top-10 finishes as 2,000 students from around the nation competed in a range of events.

    Middle School Back-To-School Night Schedule

    5 p.m. Arrival
    • Parents may park in the middle school parking lot, the Montgomery Lot just to the north of the school on Tigertail Avenue, or the Holly Lot just north of the school on South Bayshore. They may also use the valet service in the carpool circle. So that we can accommodate all parents and faculty, as well as be kind to our neighbors, we strongly encourage ridesharing.

    • Parents should pick up their child’s schedule in the atrium.
    • Refreshments will be available in the dining hall, from 5 p.m. until about 8 p.m. for your enjoyment.
