Raiders advance in six events to state championships

The Raiders successfully competed in the class 1A region 4 meet held at Nova Southeastern's Aquatic Center last Friday. The following student athletes advanced to the state championship meet which will be take place on November 8th at the Florida Aquatic Swimming and Training facility in Ocala, Florida. In the 200 medley relay senior Sophia Linfield '26, sophomores Sophie Szutkowski '28 and Eleanor Kriplen '28, and freshman Larissa Rebessi qualified with a time of 1:55.91. The boys 200 medley relay saw seniors Lincoln Broad '26, Jack Merrick '26, and Oliver Friedland '26, and  junior Aston Gould '27 qualify with a time of 1:42.41. The girls team of Chloe Jimenez '26, Larissa Rebessi '29, Sophia Sokurec '28, and Eleanor Kriplen '28 qualified in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:46.44.  The girls also qualified for the state championships in the 400 yard freestyle relay led by seniors Chloe Jimenez '26, and Sophia Linfield '26, and sophomores Sophie Szutkowski '28 and Cristina Luca '28 with a time of 3:51.49. The boys team of Lincoln Broad '26, Jack Merrick '26, Jay Holly '26, and Owen Zhao '29 qualified in the 400 yard freestyle with a time of 3:21.82. Rounding out the state qualifiers, senior Lincoln Broad earned the only individual event qualification with a time of 22:20 in the 50 yard freestyle.
