Ransom Everglades Boys Cross Country Finishes Second with Strong Pack Performance

The Ransom Everglades boys cross country team turned in an impressive showing at the district meet, earning a runner up finish in the class 2A district eight championships. The Raiders’ consistent performances throughout the lineup secured them second place with 58 points, comfortably ahead of Keys Gate Charter in third (105).
Leading the way for Ransom Everglades was senior captain Joseph Candib '26, who placed fifth overall with a time of 17:20.29, setting the tone for a strong team effort. Freshman Ivan Lefrak '29 continued his standout debut season, finishing seventh in 17:30.21, while senior Nelson Manstein '26 added key points with a 12th-place finish in 17:46.53. Rounding out the Raiders’ scoring five were freshman Arthur Barrington '29 in 18th (18:49.97) and freshman Daniel Hyde '29, who placed 20th (18:54.39), showcasing the depth and promise of Ransom Everglades’ young core. The team’s top five runners posted an average time of 18:04 with a tight 1:34 spread, a testament to their disciplined pacing and teamwork. Sophomore Auguste Houlle '28 (21st, 18:57.29) and senior Nicholas Juhasz '26 (26th, 19:09.39) also contributed strong efforts just outside the scoring positions. With their second-place finish, the Raiders advanced to the FHSAA Class 1A regional meet, where they will look to build on their momentum and continue their postseason run.
