Ransom Everglades Girls Cross Country Takes Runner-Up Finish Behind Strong Team Effort

The Ransom Everglades girls cross country team delivered a stellar performance at the district championships, earning a second-place team finish with 53 points, just behind perennial power Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart (32 points). The Raiders’ consistent pack running and balance of veteran leadership and youthful energy propelled them to one of their best outings of the season. Freshman Gillian Carvalho '29 led the charge for Ransom Everglades, placing fourth overall with an impressive time of 20:28.22, followed closely by fellow freshman Anna Block '29, who finished fifth in 20:31.57. Ninth-grader Ella Griffin '29 crossed the line 10th overall (21:27.23), giving the Raiders three top-10 finishers. Sixth-grader London Ross '32 was impressive with a 15th-place finish (22:05.74), and freshman Becca Haywood '29 sealed the scoring in 19th place (22:36.91). The team’s top five runners averaged 21:25, with a tight 2:08 spread, demonstrating strong depth and discipline throughout the race. Additional strong performances came from Ella Crowley '26 (33rd, 23:32.67) and Victoria Garcia-Pinoc '28 (41st, 24:20.01), who added valuable support to Ransom Everglades’ deep lineup. With their second-place finish, the Raiders earned a berth to the FHSAA Class 1A regional championships, where they’ll look to continue their momentum and challenge for a state meet appearance.
