Girls lacrosse rolls in home opener over Gulliver Prep

The Girls Varsity lacrosse team opened its season with an impressive 19–9 victory at home over rival Gulliver Prep, setting the tone for what promises to be an exciting year. From the opening draw, the home team established control. Senior Abby Pollak ’26 dominated the circle, finishing with a remarkable 14 draw controls to give her team a consistent possession advantage throughout the game. Pollak also contributed offensively, scoring four goals in a commanding all-around performance. Senior Chloe Zaldivar ’26 made her impact felt on both ends of the field. She tallied three goals and one assist while forcing four caused turnovers and securing a draw control. Eight grader Nina Lazo ’30 delivered an impressive performance in her debut campaign, collecting eight draw controls along with three goals and one assist. The offensive effort was balanced and relentless. Senior Alicia Medina ’26 led the scoring charge with four goals, while fellow senior Bea de Lima ’26 added three goals and one assist. Dylan Berkowitz ’26 chipped in two goals to round out the scoring in the decisive win. Another bright spot for the team was the return of goalkeeper Emma Hall ’30, who earned the start after recovering from a thumb injury. Hall came up with two key saves at crucial moments to help maintain momentum and secure the victory.
