Girls Cross Country places second at Astronaut Invitational

The Ransom Everglades girls cross country team turned in a strong performance Saturday at the Astronaut Invitational at Chain of Lakes Park in Titusville, earning a second-place team finish in the Varsity Girls 5K.
Freshman Juju Hart '30 led the Raiders with an impressive seventh-place finish, crossing the finish line in 20:21.76. Sophomore Gillian Carvalho '29 followed closely behind, placing 11th in 20:52.72, while seventh grader London Ross '32 continued the Raiders' strong front pack with a 16th-place finish in 21:07.51. Junior Victoria Garcia-Pinochet '28 added a 31st-place finish in 21:56.93, and freshman Nina Lazo '30 rounded out the Raiders' scoring five with a 35th-place finish in 22:07.70. Sophomore Ella Griffin '29 also delivered a strong performance, finishing 61st in 22:50.34, while senior Julieta Salvat crossed in 23:59.19. The Raiders' top five runners combined for 100 points, placing Ransom Everglades second behind team champion Holy Trinity. The strong showing featured four Raiders finishing among the top 35 runners in the field and an impressive team average of 21:15.46. The Raiders will look to build on the strong performance as the cross country season continues.
