Strong showing for swim teams at Palm League Invitational

The Ransom Everglades swim team turned in a strong showing at the 2026 Palm League Championships on September 14, competing against several of South Florida’s top independent-school programs. The Raiders produced a number of impressive individual finishes while also making their presence felt in the relay events, showcasing the depth and competitiveness of the program. On the girls’ side, junior Eleanor Kriplen '28 led the way with a pair of top-seven finishes. Kriplen '27 placed fifth in the 50-yard freestyle in 26.33 and followed that performance with a seventh-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle in 57.06, earning a combined 26 individual points. The Raiders also received strong contributions in the girls’ individual events from Junior Sophie Szutkowski '28, who finished eighth in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:20.10, earning 11 points. Sophomore Alisha Rajadhyaksha '29 added a 12th-place finish in the event, while junior Christina Luca '28 placed 15th and senior Anji Gupta '27 finished 19th. The Raiders' girls continued to score valuable points in the relays. The 200-yard medley relay team of Sophia Sokurec '28 , Alisha Rajadhyaksha '29, Anji Gupta '27 and Hannah May '29 finished 11th in 2:13.14, while the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Kriplen '28, Larissa Rebessi '29, May '29 and Szutkowski '28 posted a seventh-place finish in 1:48.52.

The boys’ team also delivered several standout performances. Eighth grader Ivar Kostowicz '31 was one of the Raiders' top individual performers, finishing sixth in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:54.58 and seventh in the 100-yard freestyle in 52.99, earning 25 individual points. Sophomore Owen Zhao '29 added an eighth-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.91, earning 11 points, while Aston Gould finished 12th in 24.37. In the 200-yard individual medley, sophomore Clayton Serflek '29 placed ninth in 2:26.03, followed closely by eighth grader Sebastian Hosein '31, who finished 11th in 2:27.39, and junior Iker Fierro Garcia '28, who placed 12th in 2:30.99.

The Raiders also found success in the longer freestyle events. Freshman Matteo Miller '30 finished ninth in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:34.04, while sophomore Eitan Carrasco '29 placed 13th in 5:50.36, with both swimmers scoring for Ransom Everglades. Relay performances were another highlight for the boys. The team of Kostowicz '31, Gould '27, Zhao '29 and Luke Schneider '27 finished seventh in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:35.59, while the quartet of Zhao '29, Kostowicz '31, Carrasco '29 and Gould '27 placed sixth in the 400-yard freestyle relay in 3:35.83. Ransom also earned strong finishes in the diving competition, with freshman Nicolas Schleifer '30 placing fifth in the boys' competition with a score of 285.30, while seventh grader Camille Davis '32 finished sixth in the girls' competition with a score of 200.00. With contributions across individual events, relays and diving, the Palm League Championships provided another opportunity for the Raiders to compete against some of the strongest programs in South Florida and highlighted the depth and continued growth of Ransom Everglades swimming.
