Raiders capture first Maverick Invitational team title

The No. 6 Raiders in Class 1A continued their outstanding season with a memorable team and individual performance at the Archbishop McCarthy Maverick Invitational in Coral Springs. Competing in one of the state’s largest regular-season tournaments, Ransom Everglades battled through a 17-team field featuring some of the top programs from Classes 1A, 2A, and 3A. After finishing runner-up in 2022 and again in 2024, the Raiders finally broke through, capturing their first Maverick Invitational team championship in a thrilling battle with Class 3A No. 7 Columbus. Freshman Axel Monssoh '30 delivered the defining moment of the tournament, birdieing his final hole to help secure the Raiders’ victory. Monssoh '30 fired a 1-under-par 71, the only round under par in the entire field, earning individual medalist honors. He becomes just the third Raider to win the individual title at the Maverick Invitational, joining Cole Durham '29 and Jake Beber-Frankel ’19. Sophomore Pablo Muñoz Montes '29 added a spectacular runner-up finish, carding an even-par 72, while Zachary Fischer '27 finished fourth at 73 (+1). Cole Durham '29 rounded out the Raiders’ scoring with a 74 (+2) to finish seventh. With four Raiders finishing among the top seven individually, the Raiders put together a dominant team performance and added another signature victory to an already impressive season.
