Middle school drama students offer exuberant take on SpongeBob SquarePants

A large cast of colorfully clad RE middle schoolers delivered exuberant and infectious performances of The SpongeBob Musical March 11-13 at Swenson Hall. Led by the unabashedly cheerful SpongeBob, Sasha Estefan Coppola ’30 worked to rescue his underwater hometown of Bikini Bottom from the threat posed by a nearby volcano. His best friend Patrick, played by James Harper ’30, and Sandy, played by Hannah Dubovy ’30, helped advance the amusing adventure as more than a dozen students contributed their considerable talents in key roles under the direction Performing Arts Chair Cecilia Gonzalez.
The musical showcased student excellence in singing, dancing and pulling off hilarious one-liners. Other students contributed to the creative staging, lighting, sound effects and costume design under Administrative Arts Department Chair Quincy Knowles. See the full cast and contributors below.
