Continuing the legacy of alumni tradition at RE Thanksgiving week 2025
Ransom Everglades welcomed more than 360 guests for the Young Alumni Reception during Thanksgiving week. Another cherished tradition followed later in the week, as alumni across generations gathered at the upper school for the annual Fall Alumni Soccer Game.
On November 27, young alumni from the Classes of 2013 to 2022 were greeted by Chief Operating Officer David Clark ’86 and Director of Advancement Vicki Carbonell Williamson ’88, along with alumni board members Veronica Alcorta ’96, Cristi Edmunds ’86, Maurice Ferre ’13 and Cole McWilliams ’15 for this much-anticipated evening of tradition and reconnection. Classes of 2015 and 2020 were out in full force as they celebrated their respective 10- and 5-year reunions. Thank you to their reunion committees for their work in bringing everyone together. Former and current RE professional community members, including Guillermo Urbina, Ginny Onorati, Cathi Leibinger, Alina Mendoza, Robin Escobedo, Isis Perez-Gonzalez, Alicia Fisher, Jay Calkins and Karen Thompson joined the celebration, greeting alumni with excitement and genuine curiosity as they caught up on recent accomplishments.
In true RE fashion, the gathering featured an extra touch of vibrant entertainment. Presented on the steps of the Constance and Miguel Fernandez STEM Center and organized by Arn Xu and Jon Hamm, the evening showcased an exceptional jazz performance by a talented ensemble of RE alumni: Daniel Calkins ’15, Adam Chopp ’22, Louis LaFontisee ’21, Andres Soto ’21, Max Swietelsky ’21 and Max Vallone ’22.
Later in the week, alumni across generations gathered at the upper school for the annual Fall Alumni Soccer Game. Over 30 alumni from classes of 1986 to 2024 joined in for a spirited match on a beautiful Saturday morning.
