RE opens aquatic center to community groups
For the past three summers, Ransom Everglades has welcomed multiple community groups for swim lessons and recreation at the Broad REACH and Ansin pools. In summer 2025, more than 120 children from The Barnyard, Breakthrough Miami, the Coconut Grove Optimist Club and the free summer reading program at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church enjoyed at least weekly or twice weekly swim sessions at the Ansin Aquatic Center in June and July.
Consistent with its core value of Service & Outreach and longtime commitment to the local community, the school offered pool use, lessons and lifeguards at no cost.
In summer 2024, children from five locations of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade (Kendall, Skyway, South Beach, Hank Kline and Northwest) also participated in weekly swim opportunities at RE, joining children from The Barnyard, Breakthrough Miami and Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.
Children from the Coconut Grove Optimist Club also used the RE pools during the school year.

Founded in 1903, Ransom Everglades School is a coeducational, college preparatory day school for grades 6 - 12 located on two campuses in Coconut Grove, Florida.
