The RE community enjoys a successful Homecoming 2026

A spirited crowd of students, alumni, parents and Raider faithful gathered at Ransom Everglades' upper school on October 9, bringing the campus to life for Homecoming 2026. The evening was anchored by impressive performances from RE's varsity football and volleyball teams, enlivened by a performance by the RE Dance Team at halftime of the football game, and enhanced by the selection of sweet treats and local cuisine from food trucks.
In the Anderson gymnasium, the girls’ varsity volleyball team swept Southwest Miami Senior High School in a 3-0 victory behind a game-high 14 kills from Abby Zichella '29, while the junior varsity squad fell short in a tough match against the same opponent. On Walker field, the boys’ varsity football team delivered a dominant performance, shutting out SmartEN Academy 44-0 behind two rushing touchdowns from Noah Alce '28 and two fumble recoveries by Spencer Geller '27.

Between games, visitors gathered on the Miller Family Quad to enjoy food from Miami Slice Pizza, Urban Fisherman BBQ, Kona Ice and Wall’s Ice Cream; they also took advantage of traditional concession items next to the field. Members of the Ransom Everglades Parents’ Association were on hand to welcome guests and pass out cooling RE fans.

"Thanks to all of you who joined us for Homecoming 2026," Head of School Rachel Rodriguez and Chief Operating Officer David Clark '86 said in an email to the RE community. "For those who couldn’t make it, we want to remind you that RE remains your home away from home. You are invited to attend this time next year, or other evening or weekend events before then."

The festivities also provided an opportunity to honor school athletic history. During halftime of the football game, the crowd cheered on returning alumni athletes; the recognition built on the ceremony held Thursday night at the Pagoda, where the school formally inducted its newest RE Hall of Fame members: Viki Collazo ’11 (basketball, softball, volleyball), Daniel Caycedo ’98 (football, water polo), and Matt Marcus ’86 (football, water polo).
