Four Ransom Everglades seniors – Joseph Gross '20, Natalia Lopez '20, Benjamin Thorpe '20 and Dylan Tie-Shue '20 – were named National AP Scholars by the College Board as 75 RE students won recognition for their exemplary college-level achievement on Advanced Placement exams.
RE students also earned AP Scholar with Distinction, AP Scholar with Honor, and AP Scholar honors.
The National AP Scholar distinction is granted to U.S. students who receive an average score of at least 4 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of the exams. AP Scholars with Distinction must achieve an average score of 3.5 or more all all exams, and a 3 or more on at least five. AP Scholars with Honor must achieve an average of 3.25 and a 3 or more on at least four exams. AP Scholars must receive a 3 or higher on at least three AP exams.
As current students continue taking AP courses in 2019-20, they may move into higher categories of distinction when AP scholars are announced in the summer of 2020.
