RE robotics teams excel in first event of the season

In RE’s first robotics event of the school year, three robotics teams claimed major awards at a socially distanced, in-person, indoor/outdoor competition in Naples on December 5. At the Best in Southwest event, RE teams won the Think Award, Innovate Award and Design Award, and an all-freshman team gained valuable experience.
RE’s The Matrix emerged from the qualification rounds in first place (out of the 22 teams that participated), went on to reach the finalist round and claimed the Think Award. The school's Dark Matter and The Squad each reached the elimination round, advancing to the semifinals and quarterfinals, respectively. Dark Matter won the Innovate Award and posted a combined skills score of 101 points, third overall. The Squad claimed the Design Award.

All of the teams are coached by robotics coach and engineering teacher Bob DuBard.
