Raiders place 1st and 2nd in South Points Regatta # 2

This past weekend the Ransom Everglades varsity sailing team competed in their first away regatta of the spring season at the district South Points #2 in Tampa, Florida.  Six Raider sailors participated, competing against 16 Florida High Schools. The Raiders had a strong performance, displaying consistency as they went toe to toe with La Salle High School for the title. Heading into the final race of the day, the Raiders held a one point lead but were overtaken and came up just short as they took home second place in the A division. That team of sailors included seniors Javi Garcon '21, Lucas Vianna '21 and Nicolas Echarte '21. In the B division the Raider sailed to victory behind strong performances from seniors Liam O’Keefe '21, and  Hannah Bast '21. The Raiders will now get back to practice as they prepare for their third regatta of the year on March 27th when they head to Vero Beach.
