Raiders move to 2-0 with shutout victory
In her first game since freshman year, senior Lua Balestra '22 scored three goals and recorded an assist to lead the Raiders to a dominant 8-0 victory over Don Soffer Aventura High School. Junior Lauren Howard '23 had a strong performance with two goals and two assists in the win. Freshman Ana Lavernia '25, sophomore Sofia Rua '24, and sophomore Andrea Paniagua '24 all added a goal of their own to round out the scoring for the Raiders. From the opening whistle the Raiders were in attack mode and found the back of the net early and often. Defensively, the Raiders continued their impressive start to the season keeping the opponent off the scoreboard for the second game in row. The victory moves the Raiders to 2-0 on the season as they prepare for their first road game this afternoon at True North Classical Academy. Game time is scheduled for 4:00 p.m at Miami Dade College-Kendall Campus field.
