Faculty, parents and alumni help kick off The Fund for RE

More than 80 volunteers assembled to launch The Fund for RE on October 11. Alumni, faculty, staff and parents from each grade wrote personal letters to kick off Ransom Everglades' annual campaign, which helps support students and faculty throughout the year. Volunteers enjoyed conversation and snacks as they worked in groups on the first floor of the Fernandez STEM Center, and they received thanks and encouragement from Interim Head of School Rachel Rodriguez and Chief Operating Officer and Interim Head of the Upper School David Clark '86.
"All of you demonstrate, when we come together, the strength and power of our community – alumni, parents, faculty and staff – and many of you have committed yourself to do whatever it takes to make our school great," Clark said. "We are here – in this building and on this campus – because of the dedication of our community."

Clark concluded his remarks, as he often does among students, leading cheers from the various groups in attendance. The attendees enthusiastically obliged. Rodriguez also thanked the volunteers, who were reminded that The Fund for RE annually generates eight percent of the school's operating revenue while also allowing school leaders to respond quickly to academic, artistic or athletic needs. The sixth-grade volunteer leaders received RE baseball caps and kudos for taking an early lead in their effort to generate gifts.
