Raiders earn hard fought victory in home opener

Junior Lucas Falero '25 connected on a terrific pass from freshman Lucas Piedrahita '27 for the lone goal in a 1-0 victory over Miami Country Day School in difficult weather conditions. Rain and wind pounded Robert E. Walker Field limiting scoring opportunities for both teams. Senior Tyler Mason '24 was dominant in the midfield area controlling possession for the Raiders. Senior goalkeeper Martin Piedrahita '24 and sophomore Ryan Alesandro '26 came up clutch with crucial saves to preserve the victory and the Raiders first shutout of the season. The Raiders will get back to the practice field today as they turn their attention to Somerset Academy next Tuesday night at 6:00 p.m at Robert E. Walker Field.
