Noted author tells RE parents how to resist 'achievement culture'
RE parents heard tips and advice from award-winning journalist Jennifer Breheny Wallace, who covers parent issues and authored Never Enough: When Achievement Culture Becomes Toxic – and What We Can Do About It, during a live virtual event at the Posner Lecture Hall in the Fernandez STEM Center on Jan. 24. In the talk, Wallace offered strategies for managing the increasing challenges of parenting in a hyper-competitive era. A component of RE's community-wide health and wellness curriculum, the interactive event attracted several dozen parents.

Ransom Everglades Parents’ Association President Soledad Awad introduced Wallace, and Head of the Middle School Pete Di Pace relayed questions. Commented Di Pace: “The more we’re able to come together as a community and discuss what’s in the best interests of our … children who are trying to navigate a really difficult time in their lives, the better we’re going to do our jobs, and the more success we are going to have.”
