Baseball alums turn back the clock in victory

Experience once again trumped youth as RE's baseball alums defeated a squad of current players by a 6-0 score in a game that featured three decades of Ransom Everglades' stars. Thomas Willis '04, Alex Hyde '11, Toto Collazo '07 and Drew Hague '05 combined to pitch the shutout, and Jason Katz '06 drove in the winning run with a third-inning double. Everybody who played or attended contributed to a fun day.
Alumni from the Classes of 1998 to 2014 appreciated that staff and faculty — including former head coach Steve Howlan, Alina Mendoza, Doc Crabtree and Mo Blake — turned out. Three members of the Tamayo family — Fernando '99, Miguel '04 and Andres '05 — suited up as seven more cheered from the stands. The game was followed by the customary picnic under the pavilion with parents, parents of alumni, and parents of current players.
