Miami's best summer day camp is back! Open to the community, Camp by the Bay offers opportunities for summer fun, exploration and learning for children entering kindergarten through 8th grades.
 
Summer at RE also offers sports camps for children entering kindergarten through 10th grades, academic enrichment opportunities for middle and high schoolers, and leadership development for high schoolers.

Campers will enjoy imaginative building in Lego World, hands-on discovery with Science Explorers, and favorites like Art World, Archery, Martial Arts, Dance, and Games Galore! Every day offers new experiences and fresh opportunities to learn, laugh, and grow.

    Adding even more excitement to each camp session is the heart of everything we do: our vibrant House System, now in its second year. From day one, every camper joins team Fish, Ocean, Reef, or Flippers, creating strong friendships, teamwork, and spirited competition that make camp more connected and more fun than ever. Houses give campers a place to belong, bond, shine together, and compete for a chance to win the legendary House Cup at the end of each session!

    Back for its second summer – Young Explorers Academy! Help your child avoid summer slide and keep their brains active with Young Explorers Academy (YEA), which balances classic camp favorites with engaging, interactive sessions in STEM, reading, and writing skills daily. Campers stay curious, confident, and connected, ready to hit the ground running next school year!

    In the YEA program, campers rotate daily through three periods of beloved traditional day-camp activities, including sailing and bay cruising, Art World, Dance, field games, and more. During the remaining two periods, campers participate in daily interactive sessions in our STEM and Brain Gain classrooms.

    STEM sessions feature hands-on activities that reinforce core skills within problem-solving, creativity, design thinking, and science. Brain Gain alternates on a two-day rotation between engaging (and non-screen) mathematics challenges and dynamic reading and writing activities, keeping campers mentally fresh and confident all summer long.

    Young Explorers in 3rd and 4th grade may be combined in a mixed-grade group, while 2nd-grade Young Explorers participate in a 2nd‑grade‑only group.

    Camp by the Bay extends to 8th grade with Explorers Academy, our premier middle-school day camp designed exclusively for 5th- through 8th-grade students. You’ll find the Camp by the Bay experience you’ve always loved – complete with the same cherished traditions – but elevated to match the interests and curiosity of older campers!

    At Explorers Academy, our mission is to recreate the excitement of a high-quality sleepaway camp complete with the comforts of home each night. Our build-your-own-camp model offers a Flex & Flow period featuring 1–3 day special experiences based on camper interests (survey will be sent prior to the start of camp), plus allowing campers to choose their camp activities each session. We’ve got all the cherished day camp activities for those seeking a summer of fun, exciting electives to spark new curiosities for campers looking to broaden their horizons and options for academic enrichment for those looking to hit the ground running next school year. Led by Ransom Everglades faculty, our engaging and interactive daily programs inspire creativity, foster independence, and build a true sense of community. From hands-on learning in our DREAM Lab and adventures exploring Biscayne Bay to unique Flex & Flow experiences – like cooking demonstrations, snorkeling and drone-flying – campers will discover the perfect blend of exploration, skill-building and friendship, all while creating unforgettable summer memories right here at home!

    With just 80 enrollment spots available, Explorers Academy offers the best of both worlds – a “big camp” feel, complete with fun social opportunities, and the personal attention of a “small camp” environment. Every camper can form meaningful connections with peers and our wonderful faculty in a supportive, close-knit community. With our all-camp morning kickoffs and end-of-day REview, campers start and end each day with the dynamic energy of a big group of friends – then break into smaller groups as they participate in a fun and exciting slate of electives and experiences.

    Each day, students will have an all-camp kickoff, four activity rotations, morning snack, lunch and an all-camp afternoon meeting. In addition, campers will embark on one exciting field trip per session.

    Daily Activity Rotations:
    All campers will receive our Flex & Flow rotation – a fantastic mix of 1-3 day camp experiences based on camper interest. Before the camp starts, registered campers will be surveyed to identify their interests, and our talented faculty and program developers will design experiences to match them.

  • The fun continues after camp!

    After-camp options run until 4:15 p.m. each day. Please note that campers picked up late from after-camp activities will be subject to a $10 additional charge each 15 minutes, beginning at the pick-up time. Plans changed? Campers can be registered until 12 p.m. each day for daily aftercare. Call the office for assistance!

    Families may add on this option when registering for any day camp:

    • General After-Care: Monday - Friday
      Grades K-4 = $100/session or $10/day
      Grades 5-8 = $50/session or $10/day
      Keep the fun going after camp at a relaxed, supervised environment where campers can unwind, play games and enjoy structured activities until pickup.

    Families may add on these options when registering campers in rising grades K-5:

    • Mini-Spirit Cheer and Dance: Tuesdays/Thursdays = $75/week
      Jump, cheer and dance your way through the afternoon. Campers will learn fun routines, build confidence, and show off their spirit through cheer and dance basics.
    • Basketball: Mondays/Wednesdays = $75/week
      Dribble, shoot and score. This high-energy option focuses on basketball fundamentals, teamwork and friendly competition, all in a fun and supportive setting.
    • Indoor Soccer: Tuesdays/Thursdays = $75/week
      Fast-paced fun with lots of touches on the ball. Campers will work on skills, footwork and game play through drills and small-sided games indoors.
    • Craft Zone: Mondays/Wednesdays = $75/week
      Create, design and explore at a hands-on space where campers use their creativity to make fun art projects and take home something new each week.

Camp by the Bay Highlights

House System

At Camp by the Bay, our House System is at the heart of everything we do. It is how campers feel connected, confident, and part of something bigger from day one. Every camper is placed into one of four vibrant houses – Fish, Ocean, Reef or Flippers – each with its own identity, energy and traditions. Houses bring campers together across house activities, foster teamwork and friendly competition, and create a strong sense of belonging that lasts all summer!

Water World

All the splash. All the smiles. Every single day.

  
Water World transforms our fields into an action-packed water playground. Campers race down slip-and-slides, dash through giant sprinklers, tackle interactive water games, splash through relay challenges, and cool off with creative activities designed for nonstop fun. Every camper rotates through Water World at least once per day, staying active, soaked, and smiling as they move through exciting water stations with their groups – keeping energy high all summer long.

Leaders in Training

  • Rising 9-10 Grades

    The Leaders-in-Training (LIT) program is for students entering 9th or 10th grades, as they transition from day campers into future counselors. LITs receive service learning hours, training and instruction while being assigned to work with campers alongside a junior and senior counselor. The goal for LITs is to develop independence, leadership, and a sense of responsibility, while still enjoying the social aspect and activities of camp. After completing the program, LIT’s are eligible to become junior counselors in 11th and 12th grade.

    An application and registration fee (upon approval of application) are required. This is a minimum two-week commitment, which includes participation in Camp by the Bay with kindergarten through 4th-grade campers. Summer Camp Staff Orientation will be June 10 - 12. LIT's are expected to attend orientation unless they have a summer conflict. 

    All LIT's are expected to be able to work at least two weeks of camp between June 15 - July 24.  There will be no camp on June 19 and July 3.

    Candidates must submit an online application for review and approval before registering. All students must submit a brief Letter of Interest. If you are a first-time applicant, you will also need to upload a Letter of Recommendation from at least one teacher or coach. Candidates will be notified of their application status by April 10, 2026, or on a rolling basis afterwards.

    Commitment:
    • Summer Staff Orientation Week: June 10-12, 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. (daily schedule is subject to change)
    • At least two weeks of Camp by the Bay:
        • Session 1: June 15 - 26 (no camp on June 19)
        • Session 2: June 29 - July 10 (no camp on July 3)
        • Session 3: July 13 - 24
    • Eligible LITs must demonstrate initiative, dedication and maturity. A teacher reference is required, and the application process is selective. LITs are not counselors and must register for the program if approved.

    Program Cost: $75 per week

Raider Rising Stars Sports Camps

    Players will work on everything from batting and fielding to base-running and situational awareness – always with a focus on fun, teamwork and skill-building! Led by Varsity Baseball Coach Kenny Perez and his experienced coaching staff, this camp balances high-repetition drills, competitive scrimmages, and interactive games to keep campers engaged and improving day by day. Whether you’re perfecting your swing or learning how to turn a double play, we’ll ensure each session delivers the skills and confidence to excel on the diamond.

    We’re proud to offer a positive, supportive environment that encourages camaraderie while challenging each player to reach new heights, and with $500 of camp prizes set to be awarded for camp game winners and camper awards, this camp is sure to be a grand slam!   • All-Stars Youth Basketball [grades 3-8]

    A daily healthy snack is provided. Lunch is not provided, but students may bring their own 100% nut- and seed-free lunch.

    Fast-paced drills, skill-building and exciting scrimmages come together in the Ransom Everglades Youth Basketball Camp. Designed to sharpen fundamentals and foster team spirit, this camp places emphasis on shooting technique, ball handling, defensive strategy and plenty of competitive play. Ransom Everglades Athletic Director and Boy’s Varsity Head Coach Scott Berman, and his dedicated staff of coaches and former players, will employ a balance of high-repetition drills, fun challenges and interactive games to keep players engaged and improving every day. With $500 of fantastic prizes on the line for the winners of the basketball-based carnival games and camp awards, and a positive, encouraging environment, this camp promises to be a slam dunk!

    Each participant will receive a camp t-shirt and a daily healthy snack. Like our other camps, capacity is limited to ensure personalized instruction and balanced teams. Register now to secure your spot!

  • Flag Frenzy Youth Flag Football [grades 1-6]

    Flag Frenzy Youth Flag Football Camp is the ultimate kickoff to an action-packed summer! Led by Coach Keyon Elam, our Middle School Football Coach, this coed camp for rising 1st–6th graders teaches essential football skills, fosters team spirit, and builds confidence on and off the field. But wait, there’s more! While flag football drills and scrimmages are the ultimate goal, campers will also get to cool off with water games and indoor gym games to stay active. It will be the ultimate three days of fun!

  • Rising Stars Learn-to-Golf [grades 3-8]

    Dates: June 8 - 12
    Times: 8:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.
    Grade Level: rising 3-8 (coeducational)

    Ransom Everglades is excited to offer our Rising Stars Learn-to-Golf Camp, a fun and engaging introduction to the game of golf designed especially for young players. This camp focuses on building confidence, learning the fundamentals, and developing a love for the game through hands-on instruction, games and high-energy activities.

    Campers will learn golf basics including grip, stance, swing fundamentals, chipping, putting, all taught through age-appropriate drills and creative golf games. Our experienced instructors emphasize proper technique while keeping sessions upbeat, encouraging and fun – perfect for both brand-new golfers and those with some prior experience.

    Each day includes a balance of skill-building stations, friendly competitions, and game-based learning that keeps campers active and engaged. Campers will be grouped by age and experience to ensure a positive learning environment where everyone can succeed at their own pace.

  • Raiders Boy’s Lacrosse Camp [grades 3-8]

    Whether you are picking up a stick for the first time or already dodging defenders and burying shots, this camp is built to level up your game.

    Led by Ransom Everglades School Varsity Head Coach CJ Fleming, Raiders Boys’ Lacrosse Camp is a fast-paced, high-energy week focused on skill development, confidence, competition, and FUN. Beginners will learn the fundamentals the right way through stick skills, passing, catching, shooting and game basics, while experienced players will sharpen their IQ, speed, and decision-making through advanced drills and game situations.

    Expect competitive challenges, small-sided games, and daily battles with $500 in prizes up for grabs throughout the week. Every camper also receives an official Raiders pinnie to train and compete in Raider style.

    This is the perfect camp to fall in love with the game, or take your game to the next level!

  • Raider Sailing School - Beginner/Intermediate [grades 6-9]

    Looking to set sail on a fun and educational summer adventure? The beginner/intermediate session of the Ransom Everglades Raider Sailing School is designed for rising 6th through 9th graders and provides a fun, positive, and inclusive environment where young sailors can develop their skills and passion for the water.

    The camp will lean more towards beginners, beginning with the basic beginner sailing techniques, but is also open to intermediate sailors looking to review the basics or just get further time and repetitions on the water. The coach will make sure that all sailors are getting training and repetitions that fit their development progress! Students will focus primarily on learning to sail in RE’s RS Quest sailboats. Campers will engage in hands-on sailing lessons, interactive maritime activities, and teamwork-building exercises designed to build confidence and foster a love for sailing.

    Every day is filled with opportunities to have fun and celebrate your progress. Each participant will receive a camp t-shirt and a daily healthy snack to keep them energized throughout the morning sessions.

  • Scuba Diving

    Ransom Everglades offers a variety of opportunities to learn and enjoy the world of scuba diving. With a variety of certification courses and opportunities for fun dives, people of all ages can learn to scuba dive for the first time or experience the underwater world with other members of the community! Courses and fun dives are organized based on the demand and availability of those who are interested. If you would like to inquire about the opportunities, please contact the Director of Environmental Sustainability, Dr. Kelly Jackson. Dr. Jackson leads the majority of courses and has decades of experience in scuba diving.

  • Rising Strikers Youth Soccer [grades K-8]

    Rising Strikers Youth Soccer Camp is all about fostering skill development in a fun, positive and inclusive environment – perfect for rising Kindergarteners through 8th graders of all experience levels. Our dedicated team of coaches will focus on age-appropriate drills and small-sided games that build confidence, teamwork, and a love for the sport. And with $500 in exciting camp prizes on hand, we’ll be recognizing everything from stellar sportsmanship to fun, creative moments – making each day a fresh opportunity to celebrate your progress and passion for the game. Whether you’re perfecting your first touches or looking to sharpen your passing and shooting skills, this camp offers a supportive atmosphere where every child can learn, grow and have a blast!

  • Rising Spikers Girls Volleyball [grades 5-10]

    Ransom Everglades Girls Volleyball Camp is all about high reps, learning new skills, and fun competition! The camp is specifically designed to balance skill development, competitive play, and a fun and inclusive camp atmosphere. Coach Alain Suarez, the Ransom Everglades Head Coach, and his staff of experienced coaches and former players, utilize a mixture of high-repetition drills, daily opportunities for competitive play, and fun volleyball-based games to create a camp experience players will love! And with $500 of camp prizes ready to be given out for games and camp awards, this will surely be a camp experience to remember! 

    With three courts at the middle school, girls will be placed in groups based on grades (5th/6th, 7th/8th, and 9th/10th). Players may also be placed by skill level after the camp begins. Reserve your spot today, as each court has a maximum capacity of 12! 

    Campers will also receive a camp t-shirt and a daily healthy snack in the middle of each session. Please note, lunch is not provided.

Summer at RE has several job openings at Camp by the Bay. We are looking for the following:
  • Senior Counselors (full-time teachers or current college students, to work with Kindergarten - 5th-grade students)
  • Junior Counselors (rising 11th- or 12th-grade students)
  • Leaders-in-Training (volunteer counselors, rising 9th- or 10th-grade students)
  • Activity instructors and coaches able to lead day camp activities such as in athletics, performing and visual arts, and STEM (elementary school teachers or college students)
  • Waterfront Staff, including licensed boat drivers and experienced sailors.
Camp by the Bay day camps will run from June 15 - July 24, 2026 (no camp on June 19 and July 3). All summer camp staff must be available for mandatory paid training from June 10-12.

Founded in 1903, Ransom Everglades School is a coeducational, college preparatory day school for grades 6 - 12 located on two campuses in Coconut Grove, Florida. Ransom Everglades School produces graduates who "believe that they are in the world not so much for what they can get out of it as for what they can put into it."
