Welcome to our REinventing Excellence construction page. Our goal is to keep the RE community informed as we unveil our new STEM Center, refurbish other parts of the Ransom Campus and unite the upper school with the beautiful La Brisa land next door.

  • View from behind the STEM Center

    Entry parking nearly finished

    While RE students learn remotely, construction continues at the upper school. Workers are putting the finishing touches on the entry parking lot and have laid herringbone pavers and installed lighting to complete the driveway to the La Brisa house, creating an attractive access way.

  • Under-construction laboratory in the STEM Center

    Cabinetry in classrooms, trees onto quad

    The STEM Center's labs and classrooms are starting to look the part as workers outfit them with expansive white cabinetry and floor-to-ceiling glass walls. They also have placed acoustic wood panels and ceiling lighting in the reconfigurable multipurpose room that will eventually have retractable seating for 200.

  • Wood-styled ceiling takes shape

    Workers are nearly finished installing wood-effect ceiling panels above the monumental staircase of the STEM Center, bringing the center a step closer to completion and adding warmth and color to the striking glass-and-cement exterior.

  • Parking lot construction

    Work on US parking lot enters final stages

    As 2019 came to a close, workers began the final stages of construction on the parking lot that will soon connect the Ransom Campus with the La Brisa property, beginning to level the ground to prepare it for paving and the mounting of light poles.

    The blue protective covering on the STEM Center windows is designed to shield the glass from the stucco application to nearby walls. It's also keeping under wraps the exciting work going on inside the 40,000 square-foot building.

    STEM Center comes into focus

    The face of the STEM Center came into focus in early November after workers poured concrete to form the monumental staircase and erected the stair walls. With the front-facing window panels virtually complete and the second and third floors closed in, work began on the reflection pond and interior spaces.

Founded in 1903, Ransom Everglades School is a coeducational, college preparatory day school for grades 6 - 12 located on two campuses in Coconut Grove, Florida. Ransom Everglades School produces graduates who "believe that they are in the world not so much for what they can get out of it as for what they can put into it."
