RE dominates South Florida Regional History Bowl and Bee
Ransom Everglades’ teams swept the team and individual events at the South Florida Regional History Bowl and Bee on March 5 at Ransom Everglades – a total of four RE teams and six individuals earned podium finishes, led by the first-place varsity and junior varsity teams.
RE’s team of Gabe Mora ’22, Jonathan Pollak ’23, Leo Fein ’23, Max Wiesenfeld ’23, Jack Touby ’23 and Joseph Moskowitz ’22 finished first in the varsity bowl as Fein, Pollak and Moskovitz finished one-two-three in the bee.
In the junior varsity event, Daniel Figueroa ’24, Chase Dubovy ’25 and Isabel Chong ’24 finished first with a 6-0 record, topping RE’s second-place middle school A team (Parker Jelke ’27, Zach Corbin-Chea ’27 and Lucas Gonzalez ’27), which had a 5-1 record, and the third-place middle school B team (Patrick Keedy-Brown ’26, Aarav Jindal ’26, Jaz Puri ’28 and Jack Gonzalez ’28, which had a 4-2 record. All RE losses came to other RE teams. In the junior high bee, Figueroa finished first, Jelke was second and Dubovy, third.
The varsity and JV academic teams are coached by faculty members Branly Fontaine and Abby Berler; the middle school teams are coached by faculty member Joe Mauro.

Founded in 1903, Ransom Everglades School is a coeducational, college preparatory day school for grades 6 - 12 located on two campuses in Coconut Grove, Florida.
