The Fund for RE & Athletics

Thanks to support of athletics, students develop leadership skills and find their strengths, both literally and figuratively, on and off the field.

Throughout three athletic seasons, we engage over 1,200 students on 84 teams in multiple conference, district and regional championships – including five district championships at the upper school and three South Florida Middle School Conference championships. While we are very happy to celebrate these crowning achievements, we are equally proud of the countless moments our student-athletes demonstrated leadership, team work, grit and service to their community.
“Participating in athletics has given me confidence and helped grow my social skills in the past four years. The many hours spent talking with my teammates in practices and games have shaped me, and I was able to go through the journey from a student to a leader. Coach Berman has always been there for me, and our countless conversations have played a role in who I am today. My proudest accomplishment is how my love for basketball manifested itself in the founding of my nonprofit, Hoops for Health, an organization dedicated to raising funds and awareness for mental health disorders around the world.”

“Sports have had an enormous impact on my physical and mental health. Since my days in middle school, playing soccer and lacrosse has allowed me to stay disciplined and focused, and learn how to work well with others. Surrounded by teammates and supportive coaches, the sports community keeps me motivated to improve as a student-athlete and has allowed me to cultivate incredible bonds, while also developing a deeper appreciation for my academic and athletic capabilities.”
