Senior wins art competition

Téa Vallone '24 won first place in a University of Miami Rosenstiel School Art Contest designed to raise awareness about the role of marine fish in Earth's oceans and their impact on climate. Her painting of a fish will be made into statuettes with concrete containing carbonate minerals produced by marine fish; the statuettes will be used for future outreach events. Vallone is a student in Astrid Dalins' Studio Art 4 course and the Marine Biology and Advanced Environmental Science and the South Florida Ecosystem courses taught by Scott Erdmann.

Founded in 1903, Ransom Everglades School is a coeducational, college preparatory day school for grades 6 - 12 located on two campuses in Coconut Grove, Florida.
