Two students advance to Florida State Science Competition
Dieter Manstein '25 and Ethan Thomas '25 were chosen as state finalists at the South Florida Regional Science and Engineering Fair on Feb. 4 and will present their respective research projects at the 69th State Science and Engineering Fair of Florida 2024 in Lakeland in April. They were also chosen as finalists for the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) and will present their projects in Los Angeles in May.
Manstein's project is entitled Enhanced Antibacterial Effect of Blue Light in Combination with an Amazonian Tree Sap (Croton Lechlen), and Thomas' project is Syncardia: AI at the Heart of Early Cardiovascular Disease Detection. Science teacher Sue Mactye served as an advisor to both.

Founded in 1903, Ransom Everglades School is a coeducational, college preparatory day school for grades 6 - 12 located on two campuses in Coconut Grove, Florida.
