RE rocks for Ukraine relief at spring concert

Ransom Everglades musicians, singers, dancers and production specialists combined their myriad talents for a fundraising concert at the Lewis Family Auditorium on Feb. 29. Hosted in part by the RE student group Rock 4 Relief, the Spring Concert 2024: A Tribute for Ukraine drew a large and enthusiastic crowd, and showed the school community at its best.

The officers of Rock 4 Relief (Santiago Sauceda '24, president; Sofia Rakhimi '25, vice president; and Ari Bennet '24, secretary) partnered with a non-profit co-founded by Sirja Joeveer '25 called We Dance for Change to host the event.

Jake Perdigon '24 produced a Ukraine Tribute Documentary to open the event, and a string quartet consisting of Evelyn Yu '24, Joeveer, Christine Keedy Brown '24 and Tariq Maduro '26 performed the Ukrainian Nathional Anthem and "The Hunt" by Mozart. Sander Joeveer '24 served as emcee.

Lucia Soto '24 sang and played "Imagine" by John Lennon on the piano, and many other students performed or assisted RE faculty member Quincy Knowles with the set and staging.
