RE Climate Symposium
Every Ransom Everglades sixth grader proposes, plans and implements a multi-faceted interdisciplinary climate solution at the annual Ransom Everglades Climate Symposium, a massive educational event that populates the upper school campus with innovative projects and brings together students, faculty, parents and community members in search of a greener future. Described as a "learning extravaganza" by Head of the Middle School Pete Di Pace, the symposium challenges sixth graders – and older students who choose to participate – to explore the most vexing climate issues of our time. Students not only delve into scientific research and analysis, they also seek remedies through the lens of political action, community outreach, communications and marketing, artistic expression and more. On the night of the symposium, students display scientific posters and present their work to faculty, family, fellow students and observers.
The symposium also includes a zero-waste compostable meal for the RE community and an Eco Fair featuring local climate-based organizations.

Ninth annual RE Climate Symposium celebrates climate solutions
The ninth annual Ransom Everglades Climate Symposium brought together students, parents and community members to celebrate environmental sustainability initiatives and showcase innovative solutions for a greener future. Hundreds of original research projects highlighted during the eighth annual RE Climate Symposium
The entire Ransom Everglades sixth grade and many other students displayed their creativity and passion for climate solutions during the eighth annual RE Climate Symposium, which showcased nearly 250 student research projects, climate-focused art installations and performances, a zero-waste meal and guest lecture by Howard University Associate Professor Helen Bond. The April 30 event opened in the Lewis Family Auditorium and continued with student poster presentations in the Fernandez STEM Center.Read More

The seventh annual Ransom Everglades Climate Symposium showcased the best thing going for our climate-in-crisis: smart, motivated, activated youth. Climate symposium draws hundreds
The sixth annual Ransom Everglades Climate Symposium brought hundreds to the upper school for a festival of research and learning focused on climate solutions. The April 13 environmental extravaganza was highlighted by nearly 300 student projects and a keynote address by University of Miami professor and environmentally focused artist Xavier Cortada. It also featured an Eco Fair of sustainable businesses and a zero-waste, plastic-free, all-vegetarian food court.Read More

Founded in 1903, Ransom Everglades School is a coeducational, college preparatory day school for grades 6 - 12 located on two campuses in Coconut Grove, Florida.
